WASHINGTON, DC — Stand Up America Managing Director for Policy and Political Affairs Brett Edkins issued the following statement after the Supreme Court announced it adopted a code of conduct without an enforcement mechanism.

“The Supreme Court is clearly feeling the heat. Today’s public relations announcement that the Court has adopted a ‘code of conduct’ without any enforcement mechanism is an empty gesture meant to quench the fires of the ethical crisis enveloping it.

“The Court is attempting to halt momentum for transparency and real reform. Congress must use its authority as a co-equal branch of government to pass a code of ethics with real enforcement mechanisms, and the Senate Judiciary Committee should move forward with subpoenas of Harlan Crow and Leonard Leo. The American people deserve to know the full scope of this Court’s corruption.”
