WASHINGTON, DC — Stand Up America President and Founder Sean Eldridge issued the following statement after reports that former Trump advisor Rudy Giuliani admitted to making false statements about two Georgia election workers as part of MAGA Republicans’ effort to overturn the 2020 presidential election.
“Rudy Giuliani and Donald Trump engaged in a calculated misinformation campaign aimed at overturning the will of the American people. They lied to cast doubt on the legitimacy of the 2020 election – and now they’re admitting it.
“In addition to eroding public trust and inciting the January 6th attack on our country, Giuliani sicced Trump’s angry mob on Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, two innocent poll workers who were simply doing their jobs on the front lines of our democracy.
“Holding Giuliani, Trump, and all of those involved in inciting violence and trying to overturn the 2020 election accountable is essential to protecting our democracy and future elections.”
