WASHINGTON, D.C. — Stand Up America’s Managing Director for Policy and Political Affairs, Brett Edkins, issued the following statement after the Senate Judiciary Committee advanced the Supreme Court Ethics, Recusal, and Transparency Act by a party-line vote. 

“Today, Senate Judiciary Democrats demonstrated true leadership by addressing the growing ethics crisis on the Supreme Court. The SCERT Act would establish a desperately needed code of ethics for all Supreme Court justices — liberal and conservative — to ensure that the highest court in the land isn’t held to the lowest ethical standards. 

“The American people deserve a Supreme Court that is free from corruption and inappropriate influence. We urge Majority Leader Schumer to bring the SCERT Act for a vote on the Senate floor as soon as possible.”

Stand Up America members have driven over 350,000 constituent calls and emails demanding their members of Congress investigate corruption on the Supreme Court and pass a code of ethics.
