Sarah Harris

Deputy Communications Director & Press Secretary

As the Deputy Communications Director and Press Secretary at Stand Up America, Sarah helps highlight Stand Up America’s campaigns for the press and the public. She also makes sure the importance and urgency of democracy work in today’s political landscape is well-known throughout the country.

Most recently, Sarah spent nearly three years at Everytown for Gun Safety working to support communications work of gun violence survivors and grassroots volunteers. In the role, she was able to get the first taste of political advocacy and communications work.

Originally from Kansas City, Missouri (and she won’t let you forget it), Sarah holds Bachelor’s degrees from Villanova University in History and Communications. She can be found at any free museum in Washington D.C., arguing about Kansas City sports teams, and scoping out new independent bookstores to buy books she doesn’t need.

Even though she’s been on the East Coast for years, her friends continue to remind her she is still very Midwestern.
