SENATE MUST VOTE ON SUPREME COURT ETHICS BILL FOLLOWING SECOND REPORT OF JUSTICE ALITO DISPLAYING PRO-TRUMP, PRO-INSURRECTION SYMBOLS

WASHINGTON — The New York Times reported that last summer, an “Appeal to Heaven” flag, a symbol associated with the January 6th attack and support for Donald Trump, was displayed at Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito’s vacation home in New Jersey.

Stand Up America’s Managing Director of Policy and Political Affairs, Brett Edkins, issued the following statement on the revelations:

“If Justice Alito had any shame, he would recuse himself from all cases involving January 6th. His actions don’t just cast doubts on his ability to ‘faithfully and impartially’ administer justice, they show him for what he is: a MAGA extremist. 

“What is it going to take for Congress to rein in this out-of-control Supreme Court? Our fundamental freedoms and the integrity of our judiciary are at stake. Senate Majority Leader Schumer should bring a binding code of conduct for the Supreme Court to a vote on the Senate floor immediately, and Senator Durbin should begin an immediate investigation into Justice Alito’s behavior.”
