NEW YORK—Today, opening arguments begin in People of the State of New York v. Donald Trump. Donald Trump is charged with 34 felony counts for allegedly falsifying business records to hide information from voters months before the 2016 presidential election.

Stand Up America’s President and Founder, Sean Eldridge, issued the following statement on the trial:

“Today, a jury of everyday Americans will hear how Trump broke the law to conceal damning information from voters ahead of the 2016 election. Let’s be clear, this case is not merely a case about ‘hush money payments’; it is about safeguarding the integrity of our elections. Concealing secret payments and then lying in official filings to cover it up is a serious crime, and Trump must be held accountable.”
