WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today, the House of Representatives passed a resolution to authorize an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden. House Republicans have spent months attempting to find any evidence of wrongdoing by President Biden and have come up with nothing. Despite this lack of evidence, lawmakers voted to move forward with the inquiry.
Stand Up America’s Executive Director, Christina Harvey, responded with the following statement:
“Today, the first year of MAGA Republicans’ control of the House of Representatives ended just how it started: consumed by chaos and political stunts, with zero record of accomplishing anything for the American people.
“Rather than use their positions to improve the lives of everyday Americans, MAGA Republicans in the House are focused on using their power for political revenge. That’s bad for the American people, and it’s a dangerous precedent for our democracy. Impeachment should be reserved as a check on serious wrongdoing, not used as a partisan political tool.
“Every second spent on this baseless inquiry is a waste of taxpayer dollars and a dereliction of duty by officials who were elected to represent the real needs of their constituents.”
