MILWAUKEE — Stand Up America Founder and President Sean Eldridge issued the following statement:

“This debate was a masterclass in bluster and political cowardice. Six out of eight Republicans on stage said they would support Donald Trump for president even if he is convicted by a jury of Americans for leading a criminal conspiracy seeking to overturn our democracy and freedom to vote. The American people deserve better. 

“If you’re rushing to defend Donald Trump instead of our democracy and freedom to vote, you are unfit to step foot in the Oval Office. Not a single Republican on stage tonight made the case that they will stand up for our democracy and our fundamental freedoms.”

Stand Up America was founded in 2016 as a digital-first grassroots community working to resist Donald Trump’s corruption, racism, and threats to our democracy.
