Stand Up America: Lewandowski Testimony Exposes Trump’s Obstruction of Justice
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

NEW YORK — After the House Judiciary Committee’s formal impeachment hearings began today with testimony from Corey Lewandowski, during which he confirmed one of the key episodes of obstruction of justice exposed by the Mueller report, Stand Up America Founder and President Sean Eldridge released the following statement:
“Corey Lewandowski was called to testify before Congress because the Mueller report detailed how he saw firsthand how Donald Trump obstructed justice and today he confirmed it under oath.
“The President of the United States broke the law—and that’s why he and his cronies are so desperate to hide the truth. If anyone else engaged in the obstruction outlined in the Mueller report, they would be in prison.
“We urge Chairman Nadler to swiftly continue the House Judiciary Committee’s impeachment inquiry by scheduling additional hearings and drafting articles of impeachment to hold Trump accountable for his criminal conduct.”
In May 2019, Stand Up America launched a nationwide campaign demanding that Congress begin a formal impeachment inquiry, which included driving 100,000 constituent calls to representatives from every congressional district in the country, a volunteer-driven peer-to-peer texting program that contacted 280,000 constituents in over 70 congressional districts, and other innovative digital organizing tactics.
Over the recent congressional recess, Stand Up America also joined several partner organizations in launching ‘Impeachment August,’ a robust grassroots campaign that helped pressure dozens of lawmakers into supporting an impeachment inquiry.
