WASHINGTON, D.C. — Stand Up America’s Executive Director, Christina Harvey, released the following statement on the stakes of Kash Patel’s confirmation vote in light of Attorney General Pam Bondi’s newly formed “Weaponization Working Group,” which will investigate the prosecutors and officials who investigated Donald Trump.

“Donald Trump spent years falsely accusing Democrats of weaponizing the government against him. Now, newly confirmed Attorney General Pam Bondi is helping him turn the Department of Justice into his personal revenge machine. 

“If Kash Patel is confirmed as FBI Director, Trump’s grip on federal law enforcement will be complete. Patel would lead the crackdown on Trump’s perceived enemies, including the public servants who dared to hold Trump accountable.

“If there are any Republican senators left who care about protecting the rule of law and independence of law enforcement, they should reject Patel’s nomination as FBI Director. He is deeply unqualified for the role and would embolden Trump’s efforts to politicize law enforcement and purge the government of anyone he deems insufficiently loyal.”
