WASHINGTON – Stand Up America Executive Director Christina Harvey issued the following statement in response to Donald Trump’s baseless claims during a rally in Charlotte that Vice President Harris, rather than Trump himself, is a threat to democracy.

“The former Insurrectionist-in-Chief questioning Vice President Harris’ commitment to democracy is laughable. Vice President Harris has consistently championed the freedom to vote, taken on dark money interests, and fought to strengthen our democracy. In contrast, Trump tried to overturn the 2020 election and incited a violent mob to disrupt the peaceful transfer of power on January 6th. His actions were a direct attack on the very democracy he now claims to defend. Donald Trump is the threat to our democracy, as well as a convicted fraudster and shameless liar. We’ll do everything in our power to get out the vote and ensure he never steps foot in the White House again.”
