WASHINGTON—Sean Eldridge, President & Founder of Stand Up America, issued the following statement after a New York jury found the Trump Organization guilty on 17 counts, including criminal tax fraud, scheme to defraud, conspiracy, and falsifying business records: 

“Today’s verdict is further proof that Donald Trump believes he gets to play by one set of rules while everyone else has to play by another. As the extent of Trump’s criminality and moral bankruptcy continues to be exposed, it’s clear that he was–and always will be–unfit to serve in the highest office in the land. 

“No one is above the law, and Trump himself must be held accountable for his crimes, his corruption, and his attacks on our democracy. Thanks to the work of well-respected, independent prosecutors in New York, Georgia, and at the Justice Department, this is only the beginning of Trump’s legal troubles.”
