Group’s GOTV Campaign Reached 25 Million Voters, Targeting AZ, FL, GA, MI, MN, NC, PA, TX, and WI
After independent, nonpartisan networks have determined that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have defeated Donald Trump and Mike Pence to become the next President and Vice President of the United States, Stand Up America Founder and President Sean Eldridge released the following statement:
“The American people—whether they cast their vote by mail, dropped off their ballot, or voted in person—have rejected Donald Trump’s racism, his incompetence, and his corruption and voted to send Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to the White House.
“This victory would not have been possible without the historic turnout we witnessed this year, driven by thousands of volunteers who wrote letters, sent texts, made calls, knocked on doors, and donated to get out the vote. Now, thanks to voters who turned out in unprecedented numbers despite a global pandemic and unacceptable barriers to the ballot box, our democracy has a fighting chance.
“But let’s be clear: Donald Trump is a symptom of corruption and dysfunction in our political system, not the root cause—and defeating him alone is not enough to pass a progressive agenda. Now it’s time to roll up our sleeves, finish the job of flipping the Senate, and build our democracy back better.”
Earlier this year, Stand Up America launched a $1.5 million, multi-state GOTV campaign to protect our democracy by sending Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to the White House. The campaign reached over 25 million Americans through an innovative peer-to-peer SMS texting program powered by over 8,000 remote volunteers, dozens of digital ads on Facebook and Google, and more than 150,000 hand-written letters to unlikely voters.
The group helped more than 70,000 Americans get registered to vote and helped over 100,000 voters find their polling places or vote by mail in over 14 presidential and Congressional battleground states, including:
