Responding To Pence, “Protect the Results” Coalition Readies To Mobilize If Trump Refuses To Accept The Results
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Wednesday, October 7, 2020
After Mike Pence once again refused to say if he and Donald Trump will accept the results of the election at tonight’s debate, Stand Up America Founder and President Sean Eldridge issued the following statement:
“Tonight, Mike Pence joined Donald Trump in refusing to commit to accepting the valid results of the election and ensuring a peaceful transition of power. They’re behind in the polls, desperate, and trying to bully and cheat their way through this election.
“The most important thing Americans can do right now to fight back is to make a plan to vote early and help Joe Biden and Kamala Harris win in a landslide.
“Should Donald Trump and Mike Pence refuse to accept the will of the people, we will be ready to mobilize in unprecedented numbers to demand that every single vote be counted and ensure a peaceful transition of power.”
Earlier this year, Indivisible and Stand Up America launched Protect the Results, a joint effort with Indivisible seeking to protect the valid results of the 2020 election.
As Donald Trump and Mike Pence continue to refuse to say if they’ll accept the valid results, the coalition of over 100 grassroots groups, government watchdogs, and labor unions is preparing to mobilize millions of Americans to ensure every vote is counted, that the will of the American people is respected, and that there is a peaceful transition of power.
