Group Activating Over 5,700 Remote Volunteers To GOTV In GA
GEORGIA — With early in-person voting having started in Georgia this week, progressive advocacy group Stand Up America is contacting over 800,000 eligible voters in the presidential battleground state to encourage them to vote before Election Day. Last week, Stand Up America’s volunteers also contacted over 1.2 million Georgians with tools to help them register to vote. The group’s 5,700 remote volunteers will now be texting Black, Latinx, and younger Georgians to help them make a plan to safely cast their ballots as early as possible.
Using an innovative digital organizing campaign, the group is directly contacting voters to help them register from their homes, request and return their absentee ballots as early as possible, and early vote in person. With recent polling consistently showing a close race in Georgia, the group is taking nothing for granted and aims to get voters to the polls to support candidates like Joe Biden, Rev. Raphael Warnock, and Jon Ossoff, who will fight to expand voting rights and defend protections for people with pre-existing conditions.
“Georgia is a battleground state—and that’s why Stand Up America is investing in it like one,” said Stand Up America Founder and President Sean Eldridge. “It’s far past time that Georgia had real representation in the Senate, not partisans like Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue who are blindly loyal to Donald Trump. Our innovative, digital-first organizing will help Joe Biden win the White House and flip the Senate by electing Rev. Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff.”
Stand Up America’s seven-figure national campaign will reach over 20 million Americans in nine other battleground states, including Arizona, Florida, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Wisconsin. This includes a peer-to-peer SMS texting campaign coordinated with 5,700 remote volunteers, digital ads on Facebook and Google, and more than 110,000 hand-written letters to unlikely voters encouraging them to cast their ballots this year.
