Statement: USPS Must Prove They’ll Undo Trump’s Efforts To Undermine Mail-In Voting

Following the U.S. Postmaster General DeJoy’s announcement that he will suspend operational changes to the U.S. Postal Service, Stand Up America Founder and President Sean Eldridge issued the following statement:

“As a result of massive outcry and public pressure, the head of the U.S. Postal Service has claimed they will cease operational changes before the election—but we need proof that Trump’s politicization of the Postal Service has ended and that they’ll roll back the changes that slowed down our mail, including clarifying their vague promises about restoring overtime.

“Make no mistake. The Postal Service still needs additional resources, as do state election officials, to ensure safe and accessible voting this fall.

“For 95 days, Mitch McConnell has been blocking funding for the Postal Service and election officials. It’s far past time for the Senate to act.”
