NEW YORK — In response to reports that Senate Republicans are once again targeting former Vice President Joe Biden with sham investigations, Stand Up America Founder and President Sean Eldridge released the following statement:

“It’s no coincidence that Senate Republicans are resurrecting this debunked conspiracy theory as Vice President Biden’s candidacy gains steam. These sham investigations are an abhorrent abuse of power.

“These are the same Republicans who had concrete evidence that Donald Trump broke the law to bolster his re-election campaign, but chose to block the witness testimony confirming that wrongdoing. These are the same Republicans who took campaign cash from a president while they sat as jurors during his impeachment trial. These are the same Republicans who have continually blocked efforts to secure our elections from the same kind of foreign interference Trump solicited from Ukraine, Russia, and China.

“Republicans in Congress should spend more time doing their job by conducting basic oversight of the Trump administration’s brazen attempts to subvert the rule of law rather than continue meddling in the 2020 election.”
