Kellyanne Conway Should Held in Contempt for Flouting Subpoena

NEW YORK — Following today’s House Committee on Oversight and Reform hearing on Trump administration officials violating the Hatch Act and in response to White House Counselor Kellyanne Conway ignoring a congressional subpoena for her testimony, Stand Up America Founder and President Sean Eldridge released the following statement:

“Kellyanne Conway is unfit to serve the American people in any capacity. By willfully defying this congressional subpoena, Conway has once again showcased her blatant disregard for the rule of law—and Congress should immediately begin proceedings to hold her in contempt.

“Since the first day of Trump’s presidency, Kellyanne Conway has stopped at nothing to hide the truth about Trump’s abuses of power and conflicts of interest from the American people. She has continually used her position to mislead the public, advance Donald Trump’s re-election campaign, politicize the Special Counsel’s investigation, and undermine the findings of the Mueller report.

“As the U.S. Office of Special Counsel recommended, she should immediately be fired.”
